Portfolio

Hey! Come on in, get cozy. Get familiar with this curated sample of my work, from Instagram stories and ads, custom brand identity assets and a customized marketing plan for a client. Don’t forget to head over to my blog and socials for a more up-to-date peek at my life (and my silly little tweets).

Instagram Stories

Jump into this graphic design time machine and find yourself back in the best era of the internet, with this trio of Instagram story posts. Screenshots from Webkinz, Polly Pocket, and Club Penguin evoke instant nostalgia for my fellow Gen-Z/Millennial cusp folks. Each story post is plastered with vibrant, retro-inspired graphics, inviting viewers to click a link leading to a survey about growing up online. With maximalist design and a playful nod to the late 2000s and early 2010s, this campaign effectively captures attention and sparks memories of digital childhood adventures, perfect for the target demographic.

Instagram Feed Ads

These sample ads were created with a clear target demographic in mind: younger millennials to older Gen X-ers who prioritize health, wellness, and transparency. The subtly textured background reflects the recycled cardboard shipping boxes used by the company, and the simple earth tones are easy-to-digest and alluring to the target demo.

Blog Banners

This banner was attached to an article about the dangerous side of being a teenager on the internet, especially in the era of total, lawless anonymity. The graphics reflect the dark side of the '00s digital wild west.

“The Friend Breakup Edition” is a blog post that tackles the sticky subject of social media after a falling out or fight with a close friend. I went with a nostalgic, vaporwave inspired aesthetic to capture the timelessness of the “FBU” juxtaposed with the modernity of the social media.

Inspired by the online zines and publications only the coolest kids in college were making, I created these blog banners to reinforce the themes of the blog posts themselves. Since my Substack blog is fairly new, I wanted to find a way to stand out and assign myself a bit of credibility. These projects are ultimately some of my favorite work to do, so if you’d like some graphics made for a blog or website, I’d love to collaborate with you.

Marketing & Social Media

Plan - Hannah Houston Art

Case Study

In collaboration with my client, an awesome local artist, I compiled a list of initial business and marketing goals, formulated using the SMART goals method.

Through extensive research into current social media trends and recent algorithm changes, I created a list of recommendations to achieve increased brand visibility, customer loyalty, and collaboration opportunities.

This is a part of the marketing plan I presented to my client to establish the goals we would work to accomplish. I also took inspiration from more successful artists who sell their work on e-commerce platforms and who have more social media engagement, to study what works for them and adapt our strategy accordingly. I researched and determined some relevant search keywords in order to study the proven methods of established artists on sites like Etsy.

Business Cards &

Branding

Cindy Bakes Sweets

Brand Refresh

This small business in Agoura Hills, CA, reached out for a new logo, and received this cute, minimalist brand refresh. Keeping consistent with the brand’s existing light pink signature color, I provided options for black or clay-colored versions of the text and logo. This was my first paid graphic design opportunity and I had tons of fun playing around with colors and layouts. I would love to create more brand assets and business cards!

Simone’s Personal Chef

Business Cards

Simone Tsirelson is an incredibly talented cook that I met during my time working at Ramone’s in Humboldt County. I was lucky enough to familiarize myself with Simone’s cooking style and personality in order to create these sleek business cards.

My Business Card &

Brand Identity

I designed my own business cards with a very specific aesthetic in mind, so I made a playlist called “2008 Slumber Party” and got to work. It’s giving Polly Pocket, Barbie, Dork Diaries, Cheetah Girls, and the iconic sleepover scene in Princess Diaries 2. My personal brand has to reflect my nostalgia for the ‘00s, proclivity for all things online and a major facet of my current music taste.

Current logo (Mar 2024)

Creating a personal brand identity has been the most arduous marketing project I’ve done yet. Exploring my femininity and healing my inner child through nostalgic imagery has been indescribably fun and rewarding. I’m always tweaking and updating my social profiles, blog and personal branding assets. I would love to help create a cohesive brand identity for another small business, artist, or individual.
